What’s the Fuss with Non GMOs?

with No Comments

A Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) also known as transgenic organism, involves the transfer of genes from the DNA of one species into the genes of an unrelated plant or animal.

What is the problem?  GMOs are associated with conditions including infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, faulty insulin regulation, and changes in major organs and the gastrointestinal system.

When you buy certified organic products, you can be certain there are no GMO ingredients in the product.  Look for the “Non-GMO Project Verified” Seal.   Some of the hidden sources of Genetically Modified Foods are, aspartame, baking powder, beta-carotene, fructose, soy sauce, whey, xanthum gum, soy lecithin, maltodextrin and many more.

What food crops you should avoid?   Corn, soybeans, canola, cottonseed, sugar beets, papaya from China or most of Hawaii, and a small amount of zucchini and yellow squash. Did you know GM alfalfa is also fed to livestock?
